Like a wave
Alone on the sea
On display
For the masses to see
I crash away
On shores of stone
Trying to hide
In an ebbing tide

All alone
Where all can see
I’m no longer me
I’m no longer me

It’s something of a coincidence, actually, although it may also be that I return to this metaphor frequently in life. This is an old poem, written between seven and 10 years ago. A friend reminded me about it on Monday.
