  • June 1, 2009: Speaker/presenter at annual fishing guide meeting in Sun Valley, Idaho.
  • May 21 – May 27, 2009: A half dozen speaking engagements with rafting and sport fishing guides in north and central Idaho regarding the plight of salmon and steelhead in the Pacific Northwest. Presentations focused on the rapidly developing politics of the issue, as well as how guides might engage their customers regarding the conservation issues associated with the resources they’re using.
  • May 2, 2009: Guest speaker at Northwest Outdoor Writer’s Association conference in Lewiston, Idaho. Presentation offered an overview of Idaho Rivers United’s conservation work and how that work might lend itself to creating solid story ideas based on trends in conservation and the political arena..
  • February 19, 2009: Guest speaker at Idaho Outfitters and Guides Association meeting in Salmon, Idaho. Presentation included the changing political climate in the Northwest as it relates to conservation issues.
  • February 3, 2009: Guest speaker at meting of the Hemingway Chapter of Trout Unlimited in Ketchum, Idaho. Presentation included facets of Idaho water law and ongoing work to reform aspects of prior appropriation doctrine in the Gem State to allow for in-stream flow provisions in the Big Wood River, Little Wood River and Silver Creek.
  • January 30, 2009: Co-wrote fifteen-minute speech for speaker at Boise conservation event. Speech designed to elicit emotional response from audience by using poetic prose about rivers as the lifeblood of an ecosystem.
